Features Constructed with an inner ply capable of handling the high temperatures of flue gas, a thermal insulating barrier to lower the temperature within the expansion joint, and an outer cover ply which is designed to resist atmospheric conditions.   In some applications, the expansion joint might also be designed with a special intermediate gas seal.
